Manantial Espejo: Virtual Pipeline in mining

Galileo implements its Virtual Pipeline® in the generation of electricity for gold and silver mining in Argentine Patagonia.

The new compressed natural gas (CNG) road transportation system created by Galileo was implemented by Virtual Gas Net to satisfy the generation needs of their client Minería Tritón, a Pan-American Silver subsidiary which operates the Manantial Espejo mine in the province of Santa Cruz.

Through the CNG supply over the Virtual Pipeline, the mine will replace the consumption of their own power plant diesel with a cheaper and more environmentally-friendly fuel.

Located in a remote area, this mine has a daily requirement of 6 MW of electric power at medium voltage to operate their mineral exploitation and processing equipment, to illuminate and signal open-pit mines and tunnels, and to provide comfort to their workers.
